Art makes the crisis beautiful. Here is how and where to invest
It is better than the Stock Exchange, than commodities and in general than financial products. It wins the comparison with the building. And it is belying the gloomy expectations of the catastrophics. Nowadays art seems to be a good choice for savers. Besides, this doesn’t mean that this sector is in good health. The accelerations of artists like Damien Hirst, typical of the last years, have stopped. But “this could be good”, says Guido Galimberti “the market isn’t crashing, it is cleaning. The so-called gossip artists, supported by speculations or fashion, are being deflated in true authors’ advantage. Of course, maybe prices has generally decreased, but the works of quality always find a buyer, even at high values.”
Galimbert’s idea, shared by most operators, is based on three points: bet on historicized artists, choose works of quality, never be influenced by the “griffe” because not everything of a master’s production is worth.
